OOTD: Springtime Floral

Happy Easter everyone! Today i thought I'd do a quick OOTD I shot a few weeks ago. I would do an Easter Outfit but I didn't do anything special or dress up so I'm just posting this springtime outfit. Spring break is coming up so once I have all that free time, I promise I'll do outfits with all the clothing I hauled last week!

First of all, I wanted to show you all my new hair! My friend, who is really into doing hair and makeup and such, did this ombre look for me. She used the hair bleaching kit by Splat and I really like it. So far, my hair hasn't been showing any damage or split ends which is always a plus!

The Outfit:
Denim jacket ~ Target $15
Floral tank ~ Macy's
Black high waisted shorts ~ F21 $17
Doc Martens ~ Doc marten website

Sorry I couldn't post an Easter outfit everyone! But since next week is Spring Break, I'll have plenty of time to take pictures so look foward to new outfits almost every day! Thanks for reading.

Huge (and cheap) Clothing Haul!

Hi to you all! Hope you're having a marvelous day. I'm very excited today about this post. Over the weekend, I kind of went crazy while shopping...

But its okay! Want to know why? Everything was $5 to $8 dollars!! I went to this amazing place in L.A. where they had dozens of stores that sold everything from clothing to shoes to makeup, mostly under $10. I'm happy to say I think I'm pretty much set for buying any more clothing this spring. I also got most of this clothing from a very good family friend's store called Sweet Claire. They have the best, cute, and affordable clothing and she designs most of the pieces herself. The items I got from their store are the cutest! Anyways, I wanted to share with y'all some of my favorites from my exciting little shopping trip...

This sheer pink shirt is so spring time-y and I especially love the little pearls along the neckline. (Sweet Claire)

These pinstripe leggings are so cute and best of all, high waisted! (don't know the brand or store $10)

This is from Sweet Claire and my favorite part of this top is the details on the collar! ( Sweet Claire )

This top is very airy and spring/summer-y. Please excuse the hose in the background :) ($5)

I love love love this denim slightly acid washed top. The little spikes on the shoulder are a plus! ( $7 Mustard Seed)

These are another absolute fav of mine. It reminds me so much of the summertime; of sunny days and warm beaches and hanging out with friends. ( Tea and Cup $5-8) <--- not quite sure what exact price was...

These  vintage shorts are from a little shop called Mustard Seed and the moment I saw them, I knew I had to buy them. Black lace shorts are such a staple and I cannot wait to make outfits with them. ( $7 Mustard Seed )

My favorite thing about this letterman jacket is that it is slightly cropped, perfect for wearing with high waisted shorts or pants. ( $5 )

Striped sheer shirt ( Sweet Claire )

I loved these bow backed tanks so much, I got them in both green and B&W. :) (Sweet Claire)

Another one of my absolute favorites, these high waist tribal print shorts! I love wearing high waist shorts because I can pair them with the cutest crop tops. ($10)

Leather dresses are big for this spring and I was so excited when I saw it, for $10! I plan to incorporate this greatly into my wardrobe. ( $10 )

I realize I bought a lot of high waisted shorts, but that's alright because I love them so much! The gold buttons on these black and white striped ones complete the look perfectly. ($10)

So I only showed you all some of the clothes I bought; my camera ran out of battery so I couldn't take a picture of everything. But don't worry; it will all be shown in my next post, in which I will be creating outfits with all these marvelous clothes. Can't wait to shoot that and post it for you guys! Thanks and hope you enjoyed this haul.

Some updates

Hey everyone, Rachel here! So the other day I bought a whole bunch of clothes for very cheap so I'll be doing a haul on that later. Also, in the next week or two I will be posting different outfits for spring with the new clothing I bought.
I have also been considering making a Youtube Channel, as to better connect with my audience and better show my hauls and outifts. I'd probably be posting tutorials and reviews as well. The only thing is, I have no idea what my username would be. I've tried coming up with fun creative names, but I am just blanking. Maybe leave a comment below on what you think would be a good username! I really appreciate everyone's ideas and opinions so don't be shy!

Spring 2013 Fashion!

Hi to you all!! Guess what? Spring is already here, and I am so excited for the months of warm days, bright colors, and floral. I'm pretty happy its spring but it feels like 2013 has gone by so quickly. Am I the only one that feels like just yesterday was December of 2012? Anyways, I love the springtime because that is when we can finally wear shorts and dresses and enjoy the warm weather and nature. I am really liking this year's spring fashion (and beauty)  trends and cannot wait to try them out. So I thought I'd share some of my favorite spring trends here!!

Although we often still associate spring with those light pastel-y colors ( and I still will wear those colors), this season is more about the bold. For example, black and white colors and stripes are pretty big this year. Black and white is so versatile and easy to wear so I am pretty excited about that. I think it would be especially amazing to pair black and white with a bright pop of color like bright jeans and a B & W top...

And of course stripes are a universal flattering classic....

Some more black and white And stripes on the runway and on the street!!

An accessory that is pretty hot this season are bright sunglasses. Sunglasses in pops of color are essentials this spring!

Some of the colors (other than black and white) that are popular this spring are:

And a big beauty trend this spring is the more natural fresh look with maybe a small pop of color on the lips or eyes...
Mostly a natural makeup look with bolder eyebrows...

Pops of color (mostly red) on the lips:

Pops of green and blue on the eyes:

February favorites!

Hey people of Earth! SOoo its already March! these days have gone by so quickly and it feels like just last week was 2012... I am looking foward to warmer days and spring fashion though! Anyways today I am doing some favorites of the month of February....

  1.  My Doc Martens!! Obsessed with these so much; pretty much wear it everyday. :) I especailly like to wear them with high white socks that I bunch around the top. These shoes are a great pop of color to all my outfits. ( Sorry the picture's a bit blurry)

     2.     Favorite lip products have been these two. The Korres lip butter and Essential Therapy Lip balm. What I really like about the Essential therapy lip balm is that it contains essential oils of Peppermint and wild orange which have many health benefits. It is also very moisturizing for me, especially since my lips get super chapped. The Korres lip butter is also great; it is moisturizing and slightly tinted. The color is Pomegranate, for those of you who are curious. The color goes on pretty sheer but still gives your lips a nice tint.

    3.   I think I might have included this in my last favorites post, but I love it so much! Everything, the way it glides on, the application, how long it lasts...

   4.   This shirt has been an essential staple in my closet for a while. The top itself is made of a thin sheer material, which I find is perfect for spring and has the ever so trendy Peter Pan collar. I wear his tucked into high waisted shorts, with leggings, it truly goes with all.

    5.   And lastly, I've been loving the Falsies mascara (waterproof) by Maybelline. I have really thin and straight lashes and none of the mascaras I've tried before would hold a curl like this one. This mascara gives my eyelashes volume and length and curl, which I am so happy about. Waterproof mascaras are the best for holding curl. Although they might be a little difficult to get off, I think it is worth it.
