Turkey Day Festivities

HI  there! So it's Saturday right now and I was going to post these pictures yesterday on Friday but I had a busy day. I went Black Friday shopping a few hours after Thanksgiving dinner but didn't buy anything because it was too crazy there. Anyways, I had a pretty great Thanksgiving... I had dinner with the family and some family friends. And I ate a lot of  (good) food, which  always makes you feel happy!

Our table setting for Thanksgiving...

Appetizers! We had different cheeses, salami, fruits, and crackers laid out.

Our ham, which we baked with pineapples and rosemary and thyme..

Baked sweet potatoes seasoned with different herbs.

My dad carving the turkey, which was new to him. :)

All the food laid out and ready! Some food dishes not pictured that we had were potato gratin, ratatouille, and the apple cider. For the apple cider, which was from Trader Joe's, we cooked it with spices like nutmeg, cinnamon, and allspice for a nice warm drink.

For dessert we had: key lime pie, apple cake, and pears.

So we had very diverse food this Thanksgiving, we had the ratatouille and potato gratin from my parents friends who are from France, and apple cake from my parents Italian friends. Probably the most interesting and the best Thanksgiving I've had! How was your Thanksgiving? Comment below!

Fall/Winter Fashion 2012

As most of you know, my favorite season is fall/winter. The reason is I love fall/winter fashion. It's just so cozy and warm and stylish. So here are some fall winter trends for 2012 as well as some of my favorite clothing pieces for this season.

The big color of this season is this gorgeous deep burgundy red, basically on anything...Jackets, pants, shirts, sweaters, skirts, dresses, shoes and purses. It's also very popular in the beauty world with deep red lipstick or nail polish. I love this trend because the color is so versatile and classy.

The next big thing of this season is the military trend... Military colors like dark green or olive,  military style jackets/coats, and military boots(which are my favorite) The military style in coats is really popular as it is simple and clean looking but it is also stylish and trendy.

Leather is another trend for these colder seasons approaching. It can be worn so many ways, in jackets, coats, skirts, dresses, and shoes. I really love wearing leather jackets with my fall/winter clothing since it really just pulls the outfit together.

Hope you found this helpful and have a great Thanksgiving!

My room makeover update!

Hey guys! Its really cold here which I love, since my favorite season if fall/winter and I can start wearing sweaters and boots and drink caramel brulee lattes! :)
So this is a follow up on  my previous blog post about my room renovations... Here are a few more updates to my room and DIY room ideas.

So we decided to add a cute little touch to my fabric wall by adding little gemstones to the black ribbon. We used the regular silver rhinestones you can find anywhere and glued a whole bunch on. We used super glue at first but that didn't really work out since it got everywhere and was too messy. So then we used Super-tac gem glue which is specially made for glueing rhinestones onto materials like ribbon, fabric, etc.

Overview of whole wall... The little wall decoration next to the fabric is from Hobby Looby, for those of you wondering). I'm still debating what exactly to put on the center of my fabric wall thing. Maybe a clock or some frames. Leave me a comment below on what I should do.... And there's my dog just chilling like a villain. Silly Mochi, you... :)

So thanks for reading! Have a great day!

Working on my new room-- Diy fabric on walls

Hey everyone, so hope you had a good Halloween! As ya'll know I'm getting my room redone so that's a lot of fun! But we are doing all the stuff by ourselves, with mostly simple DIY projects. One of my favorite DIY project I'm doing for my room is the fabric wall I have next to my bed. So below is the process and the how-to for this project.

So these are all the materials we used... Some fabric (mine's from Hobby Lobby), scissors, ribbon, the little staple gun things, and crown moulding to frame the fabric.

So we just positioned the fabric on the wall how we wanted it and just started stapling the whole thing on the sides. Make sure its going to be properly secured by stapling the top, both sides, and the bottom. While you're stapling, make sure that you're flattening the fabric as you go across so its not all uneven and bumpy.

Then we added some simple black ribbon (you can get this anywhere, JoAnn's, Micheals). we glued this on with some strong fabric glue. Flatten the ribbon as you go to avoid the bumps.

We then added the crown moulding, which just gives it the final touch. So we just nailed the crown moulding in the wall, adding the nails every 5 or 6 inches. This way it is sure to stay and be secure.

Ta-da! There you go. The final result! A beautiful easy DIY wall project to just make any boring wall interesting and fun!

Thanks for reading! I''ll be posting more about my new room and the stuff we are adding(which I'm very excited for), and more DIY projects for your room. :)

Organic Beauty products

The first product I want to talk about are these Korres lip butters. They are actually quite moisturizing and work pretty well. It give you a nice sheer color on your lips. These lip butters are good because they are organic and the ingredients do you no harm unlike in regular lip butters/chapsticks which have harmful ingredients. I really recommend these lip butters for anyone really. 5 out of 5 stars

The next product is the L'Occitane hand cream which a lot of people talk about and use. I get really dry hands, especially when it starts getting colder and this works pretty well for my dry hands. Also it doesn't leave your hands all greasy and oily like a lot of creams do. It has a mild scent that you can't even distinguish so it is not overpowering. 4 out of 5 stars

Next item on the list is the Kiehl's Super Fluid tinted sunscreen. It is very lightweight and watery which is good because it feels like you aren't wearing anything on your face. The only problem I have with it though is it is rather oily when you first put it on. However after you apply it to your face and it is dried it does not feel so oily. 4 out of 5 stars

The last item I have to show ya'll is the Body Shop body butters in shea, coconut, and tangerine. As I mentioned before my skin gets really dry so this is a great smelling moisturizing lotion. The only thing is that it doesn't last very long; it kind of fades after a while...But other than that, it is a pretty good body butter overall. 3 out of 5 stars

Thanks for reading my blog; and I hope you found this helpful...
